The Bellum Alexandrinum is a Latin work continuing Julius Caesar’s commentaries, De Bello Gallico and De Bello Civili. It describes Caesar’s campaign in Egypt 48/47 BC. Although usually collected and bound with Caesar’s authentic writings, the authorship of the work has been debated since the Roman times. The most probale author of the commentaries is Aulus Hirtius, who added an eighth book to Caesar’s De Bello Gallico.
