U četvrtini slučajeva bolest sejavlja pre 20-te godine.Ciljevi ovog istraživanja bili su da se u grupama dece obolele od KB i UK i kontrolnoj grupiodrede: vrednosti standardnih hematoloških i biohemijskih parametara u krvi, koncentracijaelemenata u serumu i tkivu creva, morfometrijska, fraktalna i GLCM teksturalna analizadigitalizovanih mikrografa creva i ekspresija parametara oksidativnog stresa 4-HNE u tkivu creva. Ustudiji preseka učestvovalo je 20 dece obolele od KB, 18 dece obolele od UK i 20 kontrola.Ukupni holesterol je bio niži kod obolelih od UK i KB, a HDL holesterol samo kod obolelih od KBu odnosu na kontrolnu grupu. Kreatin kinaza značajno se razlikovala među ispitivanim grupama.Pokazali smo da je u serumu ispitivane dece gvožđe bilo značajno niže kod dece obolele od KB uodnosu na kontrole, dok je Mn u serumu bio niži kod obolelih od KB u odnosu na obolele od UK.Nadalje, u nekim segmentima creva Mg je bio niži u IBD nego u kontrolnoj grupi. Naši rezultatipokazuju i da su u tankom crevu bakar, mangan i cink bili značajno niži kod dece obolele od IBD uodnosu na kontrole, a Mn i kod dece obolele od KB u odnosu na kontrole.Morfometrijska ispitivanja pokazala su da je po veličini crevnih jedara moguće izdvojiti obolele odUK od drugih ispitivanih grupa, a na osnovu njihove cirkularnosti obolele od KB od kontrole. Osimtoga, deca obolela od UK imala su statistički značajno višu fraktalnu dimenziju i nižu lakunarnosthromatina ćelijskih jedara debelog creva u odnosu na obolele od KB i kontrole. GLCM teksturalnaanaliza jedara završnog dela tankog creva pokazala je razliku između jedara obolelih od UK i jedaradrugih ispitivanih grupa. Uz par izuzetaka isto je pokazano i u sigmoidnom kolonu. Rektum iascendentni kolon bili su značajni segmenti za razlikovanje obolelih od KB od kontrolne grupe.Obim ekspresije 4-HNE u epitelnim ćelijama creva obolelih od KB korelirao je sa GLCMteksturalnim parametrima. Inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), encompassing Crohn's disease (CD), ulcerative colitis (UC),and unclassified IBD is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the gastrointestinal tract. In a quarter ofcases, the disease occurs before the age of 20.This research aimed to determine: the values of standard hematological and biochemical parameters inthe blood, the concentration of elements in serum and intestinal tissue, morphometric, fractal, andGLCM textural analysis of digitized micrographs of the intestine, and the expression of oxidativeparameters of stress 4 Hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) in intestinal tissue in the groups of childrensuffering from CD and UC and the control group. In this cross-sectional study, we included 20children with CD, 18 children with UC, and 20 controls.Total cholesterol was lower in patients with UC and CD, and HDL cholesterol only in those withCD compared to the control group. Creatine kinase was significantly different between theinvestigated groups. The study shows that serum iron was significantly lower in children suffering fromCD compared to controls, while serum Mn was lower in children with CD compared to the oneswith UC. Furthermore, in some intestinal segments, Mg was lower in IBD than in the control group.Our results also show copper, manganese, and zinc in the small intestine to be significantly lower inchildren with IBD compared to controls, and Mn in children with CD compared to controls.Morphometric analysis revealed that according to the size of the intestinal nuclei, it is possible toseparate patients with UC from other investigated groups. In addition, based on nuclear circularity,patients with CD can be distinguished from controls. Further, children with UC had a statisticallysignificantly higher fractal dimension and lower lacunarity of colon cell nuclei compared to thechildren with CD and controls. GLCM textural analysis of the terminal ileum nuclei showed adifference between the nuclei of UC patients and other investigated groups. With a few exceptions,the same is shown in the sigmoid colon. The rectum and ascending colon were significant segments fordistinguishing patients with CD from the control group. The extent of 4-HNE expression inintestinal epithelial cells of CD patients correlated with GLCM textural parameters.
