Важност овог циља односи се на разумевањетрајања града и читање континуитета развоја градских простора. Како бављење темом односамеморије и јавних градских простора захтева просторну и временску конкретизацију каоиспитивачки полигон одабран је комплекс Београдског сајмишта.Коришћене методе истраживања у раду огледају се кроз метод систематичног прегледалитературе, историјски метод, метод анализе доступне грађе, метод опсервације, методсистематизације и класификације, AQAL метод, компаративни метод праћења морфогенетскихпромена и метод студије случаја.Научна оправданост дисертације огледа се у научном доприносу областимаурабнистичког планирања, пројектовања и урбаног дизајна са теоријског и методолошкогаспекта. Сагледавано из перспективе теоријског аспекта допринос се односи на дескрипцију исистематизацију места сећања у оквирима јавних градских простора. Такође, односи се и насистематизацију просторних карактеристика места сећања и објашњење утицаја простора напроцес очувања и преношења меморије. Методолошки допринос огледа се у успостављањуметоде интегралне анализе просторних потенцијала за формирање места сећања у структуриграда и јавних градских простора.Тема дисертације је важна за урбанистичку праксу планирања и пројектовања јер сеставља у функцију оснаживања локалних специфичности и истицања особености места.Дисертација објашњава зашто су места сећања важна за један град и самим тим зашто је важнообезбедити њихово опстајање и активно присуство у савременим урбаним токовима. The main goal of the research is to establish knowledge about the characteristics of relationsbetween memory and public city space through the examination of social influences that enable theirsynergistic development. The importance of this goal refers to understanding the duration of the cityand reading the continuity of the development of city space. Since dealing with the topic of therelationship between memory and public space requires spatial and temporal concretization, theBelgrade fairground complex was chosen as the testing ground.The research methods used in the work are reflected in the method of systematic literaturereview, historical method, method of analysis of available material, observation method, method ofsystematization and classification, AQAL method, comparative method of monitoring morphogeneticchanges and case study method.The scientific justification of the dissertation is reflected in the scientific contribution to thefields of urban planning, projecting and urban design from the theoretical and methodological aspects.Seen from the perspective of the theoretical aspect, the contribution refers to the description andsystematization of places of remembrance within the structure of public space. It also refers to thesystematization of the spatial characteristics of places of memory and the explanation of the influenceof space on the process of memory preservation and transmission. The methodological contributionis reflected in the establishment of a method of integral analysis of spatial potentials for the formationof places of memory in the structure of the city and public space.The topic of the dissertation is important for the urban practice of planning and design becauseit is put into the function of strengthening local specificities and highlighting the uniqueness of theplace. The dissertation explains why places of memory are important for a city and therefore why itis important to ensure their survival and active presence in contemporary urban trends.
