The aim of the paper is the systematization of existing knowledge in the function of building an efficient hybrid teaching model supported by virtual reality. The paper uses the case study method. The analysis includes three interdependent subsystems: technical, pedagogical and content. The results indicate that the virtual reality system creates a stimulating teaching environment that has numerous advantages, and particularly stand- ing out are the provision of conditions for the challenging situations simulation and the study of abstract phenomena through the active participation of sys- tem users.
