o:37301 Милош Црњански и Словенство Miloš Crnjanski and Slavic Identity en Abstract: The work follows the motif of Slavism in the novels of Miloš Crnjanski. This motif is present from the first to the last published novel of our author. It is possible that Crnjanski draws from expressionism and an omnipresent spiritual climate at the turn of the century. In the variation of the motif, Crnjanski shaped it completely autochthonously and in accordance with his own poetics, thus giving it an authentic and extremely original foundation. The motif of Slavism is analyzed through love, longing, exile, as well as the journey to the promised land – Russia. In this way, Crnjanski builds a utopian space, ideal- ized in the consciousness of his hero, and therefore unattainable in reality. The longing for the other, the different, becomes imperative in Miloš Crnjanski’s work, sometimes framed by the motif of Slavism.
