  <dc:description xml:lang="eng">ABSTRACT
Millipedes (and other terrestrial invertebrates) have several strategies for metal detoxification, including storing metals in specialized tissues, reducing nutrient assimiliation and regulating low metal concentrations through excretion. Zink (Zn, vital element that plays a role in numerous biological processes) is tightly regulated and can be detoxified and eliminated through excretion.</dc:description>
