o:35107 Historical development of solar road panels in Pavement structures en Abstract: This paper deals with the history of the application of solar panels in pavement structures, i.e., the history of solar roads. Solar panels are becoming an increasingly popular way of generating energy because they use the inexhaustible sunlight to produce electricity. The primary goal of this research is to present the history of solar roads, their historical justification, general benefits and economic viability of constructing solar roads, as well as replacing modern asphalt roads with new, multifunctional solar roads. The paper provides basic information about the historical development of solar roads and their implementation worldwide, their benefits and disadvantages, and an overview of their economic feasibility.
