Caffeic acid (CA) is a polyphenolic compound widely present in fruits, vegetables, spices and beverages used in everyday diet. Numerous research indicated beneficial effects of CA on human health including its antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and anticancer  activities. Nevertheless, data  about the effects of CA in pregnancy, especially on early  pregnancy events, are limited.  Remodeling of uterine spiral arteries together with trophoblast endovascular  differentiation are critical   processes for establishing and  maintaining a healthy pregnancy. The aim of this study  is to investigate how CA affects  trophoblast endothelial-like  properties assessed with tube  formation assay on Matrigel, an in vitro angiogenesis assay.</ns1:description>
