Despite world destinations experiencing tremendous loss in tourist turnover (tourist arrivals, overnights, and consumption), positive movements have been registered in terms of its recuperation. In Croatia tourism is the most important economic branch, and as such represents the largest part of its GDP (according to the data of Croatian National Bank, in 2019 tourism participated with an estimate of 19.5% in total GDP). Considering its relevance for the Croatian economy, the authors will present the actual state of Croatian tourism with the use of the most recent theoretical findings, as well as the statistical indicators obtained from secondary sources. Based on the findings, they will present considerations for future development of Croatian tourism.
