<ns1:language>en</ns1:language>
    <ns1:description language="en">Abstract: The aim of this exploratory study is to use a comparative analysis of the findings of
previous research to see to what extent the components of motivational strategies are a significant
factor of academic success / failure, ie. what is their influence on the processes of self-regulation
and academic efficiency, (učitelja i vaspitača, školskih pedagoga i psihologa) in order to look for
ways to help the gifted who manifest depressive strategies of self-regulation. Trying to answer
this question the authors present the findings of their several research studies which can
conceptualize strategies to help cope with depressive self-regulatory strategies, the most common
patterns of reactive behavior as a cause of failure, which is one of the links in the vicious circle of
depressive self-regulation (učitelja i vaspitača, školskih pedagoga i psihologa).
The theoretical framework consists of Sternberg's triarchic theory of intelligence, ie Theory of
Mental Self-Management (1988), Bandura's Social-Cognitive Perspective (Bandura, 1977), as well
as elements of the Theory of Self-Regulation (Deci & Ryan, 2002). The respondents are
academically gifted students from the universities of Belgrade, Novi Sad and Nis (N = 927, of
which 175 (16.1%) are academically gifted - with an average grade above 9.5).
Basic findings:
• Among several observed potential factors of weak or negative self-regulation, it was found that
the strongest cause of poor performance and the formation of depressive patterns of behavior is
the abandonment of motivational strategies that help academic performance;
The most effective method of returning to normal is the method of effective mentoring.

akademskog uspeha/neuspeha studenata (budućih učitelja i vaspitača, školskih pedagoga i
samoregulacije studenata, budućih vaspitača i učitelja, školskih pedagoga i psihologa.
Teorijski okvir čini Sternbergova trijarhična teorija inteligencije, odnosno Teorija mentalnog
samoupravljanja (1988), Bandurina socijalno-kognitivna perspektiva (Bandura, 1977), kao i
elementi Teorije samoregulacije (Deci & Ryan, 2002).
napuštanje motivacionih strategija koje pomažu akademske performanse;
• Najefikasniji metod vraćanja u normalu je metod efikasnog mentorstva.
