This paper examines the adaptation possibilities of an industrial building and its potential reuse as a building for a higher education institution. The transformation model for this is represented with the facilities of the Textile Factory &apos;&apos;Vesna&apos;&apos; in Sjenica, being planned to be reconstructed to accommodate the Agriculture Faculty. The major goal of this study is to examine whether by the proposed rehabilitation the building can achieve the necessary comfort, and to assess the project’s economic profitability and the possibility adjust to current legislation. The paper includes two major units. The first part offers an analysis of the current condition of the building and used construction materials in relation to the consumption and conservation of energy. Regarding this, the paper examines the building itself and its thermal and acoustic characteristics. It also analyses the existing heating and cooling systems of the building, as well as the possibility of using renewable energy. The second part deals with the planned architectural conception of the future Agriculture Faculty. It considers the educational and administrative parts of the building, orientation of functional areas and determines necessary conditions for the realization of thermal, acoustic, light and visual comfort. The thermal calculation is used to define the required thickness of thermal insulating. The addition of the windows with specified characteristics is used in order to provide the necessary thermal and acoustic comfort. A separate part of the paper is dedicated to check the examination possibility of using solar energy collectors for heating and cooling of the building. Based on the referential climate information, we performed a simulation of the usage of solar collectors, thus obtaining the information about the produced energy and the reduction of the emission of carbon-dioxide.</ns1:description>
