  <dc:description xml:lang="eng">Abstract:
The paper analyses the ideas of M. Jovanović Morski in the account of travels ”Tamo amo po istoku” (Around East) which are related to all sorts of ”exchanges” between ”civilized” Europe and primitive ”Asia”. He is sharp in judging British ”civilizing mission” which originated from colonialism and clear in his antiracial stance. He builds his identity from the fact that he is a European, but also from assumption that Asia is the ”cradle of civilization”.</dc:description>
