o:29982 COMPARISON OF THE EMPIRICAL VARIANCES AND MEAN VALUES OF NORMALLY DISTRIBUTED POPULATIONS OF NUCLEAR COUNTS POREĐENJE DOBIJENE EMPIRIJSKE VARIJANSE I SREDNJIH VREDNOSTI NORMALNO RASPODEĐENIH POPULACIJA NUKLEARNOG ODBROJA en Abstract: This paper discusses the possibility of applying the F-test and double t-test in problems related to the identification of number of radio active isotopes in a contaminated area by using only counters for radiation detection. The descriptions of the F-test and the double t-test are given along with the corresponding tabular values that enable their implementation. Finally, the experiment is presented via two radioactive samples. The results of the experiment were treated in the manner proposed in the paper and satisfactory results were obtained. Sažetak : U radu se razmatra mogućnost primene F-testa i t-duplog testa u problemima vezanim za identifikaciju broja radioaktivnih izotopa, koji se nalaze u kontaminiranim područjima, kada se za detekciju zračenja koriste brojači. Opisi F-testa i t-duplog testa su dati zajedno sa odgovarajućim tabelarnim vrednostima koje omogućavaju njihovo sprovođenje. Eksperiment je sproveden sa dva radioaktivna izvora. Rezultati eksperimenta su tretirani na način predložen u samom radu pri čemu su dobijeni zadovoljavajući rezultati.
