o:29887 The legislative settings for greening the supply chain: Evidence from USA, China, India and South Korea en Abstract: The role of legislative settings in intensifying the greening of the supply chain is not recognized equally in all parts of the world. Apart from the very developed European legislation covering this issue, the regulation concerning the incentives for greening the supply chain is either undeveloped and with a secondary role, or hardly developed at all in many other countries, even the economically very prosperous ones. The analysis of the regulatory framework covering this problem in a selected number of countries is precisely the main interest of this paper. The very paper is divided into four parts. The first part of the paper deals with the analysis of the situation concerning the legislative settings for a greener supply chain in the USA, while the second, third and fourth part treat the regulatory situation in China, India and South Korea, respectively. The aim of the paper is to raise awareness of the importance of legislative settings for greening the supply chain, which is very important since the green initiatives and ecological actions implemented by every participant of the supply chain can lead to its competitiveness and a stronger position within the market.
