<dc:description xml:lang="eng">Participatory budgeting (PB) is a process that enables
citizens to participate in decision-making related to
local governments, i.e. improving the quality of life on
a micro level. This paper takes an example of the
former republics of the Socialist Federal Republic of
Yugoslavia, which do not have such a developed
system of PB, but the process has certainly begun,
with the likely tendency of expansion and
development. The aim of this paper is to provide a
comparative analysis of the use and role of PB in
Serbia, Croatia, Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina,
Slovenia and Montenegro.</dc:description>
