    <ns1:description language="sr">Apstrakt: U radu se razmatra regulativa i
praksa funkcionisanja nadzornih odbora u javnim preduzećima čiji je osnivač Republika Srbija. U tu svrhu sprovedeno je istraživanje koje
je obuhvatilo 15 velikih javnih preduzeća. Na
bazi rezultata istraživanja izložene su ocene o
kompetentnosti i nezavisnosti članova nadzornih odbora, kapacitetu za rad nadzornih odbora, delokrugu rada i komisija nadzornih odbora javnih preduzeća. Na bazi tih ocena date
su i preporuke za unapređenje rada nadzornih
odbora u javnim preduzećima.</ns1:description>
    <ns1:description language="en">Abstract: This paper discusses the regulation
and practice of the functioning of supervisory boards in public enterprises founded by the
Republic of Serbia. For this purpose, a survey
was conducted covering 15 large public enterprises. Based on the results of the research,
assessments on the competence and independence of the members of the supervisory boards,
the capacity for the work of the supervisory
boards, the scope of work and the committees
of the supervisory boards of public enterprises
are presented. On the basis of these estimates,
recommendations for improving the work of
supervisory boards in public enterprises were
also given.</ns1:description>
