<dc:description xml:lang="eng">Abstract: The ongoing pandemic has attract-
ed the attention of researchers from various
sciences, especially economists – not only
those who study the economy in “non-reg-
ular circumstances”, but also many of those
whose efforts to bring out the shortcomings
of the ruling paradigm can best be seen in
extreme conditions. Price gouging has been
greeted with great moral contempt around the
world, and the policy of fixing prices in these
circumstances was readily accepted, although
traditional economic analysis leaves no room
for price control. However, when the matter
is examined more closely, it is no coincidence
that the arguments for price-fixing usually do
not concern the morality of price increases
in “non-regular circumstances” but relate to
competition policy. This paper will analyze
price-fixing policy from different perspectives
trying to point out the problems with universal
judgments on this matter</dc:description>
