Одабрано је десет издања овог дела, и то почев од првог (1933/34) до једног од најновијих (2018), како би се обухватила оба периода српске правописне норме – први, Белићев, с из-дањима из 1923, 1930, 1934. и 1950. године, и други – Матичин, са издањима из 1960. године (заједно с Матицом хрватском), те 1993. и 2010. године, чији су аутори М. Пешикан, М. Пижурица и Ј. Јерковић. С намером да се потцрта значај ове анализе за наставну праксу, анализом је обухваћена и уџбеничка литература (читанке) у којој је ово дело представље-но у виду одломака. Имајући у виду то да се језичке компетенције наших ученика у домену граматичке и правописне норме развијају и читањем школске лектире којој припадају Ну-шићеви Хајдуци, циљ рада је да се утврди у којој мери су и у вези с којим правописним пра-вилима приређивачи различитих издања овог романа за децу усклађивали Нушићев текст са правописном нормом актуелном за време објављивања тог дела. Summary: Using the example of “Hajduci” by Branislav Nušić, as school extensive reading for the fifth grade of primary school, this paper analyzes the compliance of ten selected editions of this work with the orthographic norm that was current at the time when these editions were published. Ten editions of this work were selected, starting from the first edition (1933/34), to the most recent one (2018), aiming to cover both periods of Serbian orthographic norm - the first, Belić’s period, with the editions from 1923, 1930, 1934, 1950, and the second period, of Matica Srpska orthographic norm, with the editions from 1960 (together with Matica hrvatska), and in 1993 and 2010 whose authors are M. Pešikan, М. Pižurica and J. Jerković. In order to emphasize the importance of this analysis for teaching practice, it also includes the textbooks (readers) containing the excerpts from the novel “Hajduci”.
