Делујући под окриљем Азијског департмана Министарстваспољних послова, циљ организације било је јачање руског утицаја међу Словенима,нарочито међу Србима и Бугарима, односно изградња пута који је Русији после поразау Кримском рату (1853–1856) требало да обезбеди сигуран повратак на међународнуевропску сцену. Циљ нам је био да анализирамо и преиспитамо улогу Московскогсловенског комитета у борби српског народа за ослобођење и уједињење, у периодуизмеђу 1858. и 1875. године, односно од самог оснивања организације па све до смртињеног другог председника, водећег словенофила Михаила Петровича Погодина (1800–1875), да прикажемо све аспекте деловања московских словенофила када је реч о Србимаи представимо крајње резултате тог деловања. Рад се у највећој мери заснива нанеобјављеној архивској грађи архива и библиотека Руске Федерације (Архив внешнейполитики Российской империи, Государственный архив Российской Федерации,Научно-исследовательский отдел рукописей Российской государственной библиотеки,Отдел рукописей Российской национальной библиотеки, Российский государственныйархив древних актов, Российский государственный архив литературы и искусства,Российский государственный исторический архив, Российский государственныйвоенно-исторический архив, Рукописный отдел Института русской литературы(Пушкинского дома) Российской aкадемии наук, Центральный государственный архивгорода Москвы и Центральный государственный исторический архив Санкт-Петербурга), али и на необјављеној архивској грађи похрањеној у архивима ибиблиотекама Србије, Црне Горе и Бугарске, те на објављеним изворима, штампи ирелевантној литератури. The paper analyzes in detail the activities of the Moscow Slavic Committee, a social organization that emerged as a legacy of the "post-Crimean era" among Russian intellectuals,mostly of Slavophile orientation, with the aim of influencing the political, ecclesiastic, cultural,educational and economic development of the Slavic population in Turkey and Austria-Hungary. Acting under the auspices of the Asian Department of the Ministry of ForeignAffairs, the goal of the organization was to strengthen the Russian influence among Slavs,especially Serbs and Bulgarians, that is to build a path that should provide Russia with a safereturn to the international European scene after the defeat in the Crimean War (1853–1856).Our goal was to analyze and re-examine the role of the Moscow Slavic Committee in thestruggle of the Serbian people for liberation and unification, in the period between 1858 and1875, that is from the very founding of the organization until the death of its second president,leading Slavophile Mikhail Petrovich Pogodin (1800–1875), to show all aspects of the actionsof Moscow Slavophiles when it comes to Serbs, and to present the final results of those actions.The paper is mostly based on unpublished archival materials of the archives and libraries ofthe Russian Federation (The Foreign Policy Archive of Imperial Russia, The State Archive ofRussian Federation, The Manuscript Collection of the Russian State Library, The ManuscriptCollections of the Russian National Library, The Russian State Archive of Ancient Documents,The Russian State Archive of Literature and Arts, The Russian State Historical Archive, TheRussian State Military Historical Archive, The Manuscript Collection of the Institute ofRussian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences, The Central StateArchive of the city of Moscow and The Central State Historical Archive of St. Petersburg), butalso on unpublished archival materials stored in the archives and libraries of Serbia,Montenegro and Bulgaria, as well as on published sources, press and relevant literature.
