The subject of this research are the types of nouns which only occur in plural form. These are all those lexemes whose fundamental form is plural and as such denotes both the singularity and the plural form of said noun. Since they lack the realisation of a number category, they are considered defective. In literature these words are most commonly referred to as pluralia tantum. From the dictionaries of contemporary Serbian language (Dictionary of Serbo-Croatian Literary Language and Vernaculars of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, Dictionary of Serbo-Croatian Literary Language in six volumes published by Matica srpska, Dictionary of the Serbian Language, Reverse Dictionary of the Serbian Language) all lexemes designated with a qualifier mn. or a lexicographic constant which refers to dominant plural use of the lexeme (obično(u) mn., često(u) mn., najčešće(u) mn., and others) were excerpted. In an effort to fully describe this category of words, words from the electronic corpus of the Serbian language, examples from the internet, as well as various foreign words were used to build the corpus group...
