Томић, Ирина, 1986- , 10163047 Уметност у окупираној Србији : докторска дисертација После слома Краљевине Југославије априла 1941, територија Србије је подвргнута непосредној немачкој војној окупационој управи, што је у пресудној мери одредило уметничко стваралаштво током неколико наредних година. По групама се уметници могу поделити на оне који су били оформљени и пре рата, затим оне који су се формирали током или непосредно по ослобођењу и, коначно, на људе који се не би посветили уметничком стваралаштву да до рата и окупације није дошло. Друга врста поделе уметника, па и уметности, може се извршити према (не)припадности одређеној политичкој страни. Једна од доминантних била је уметност окупаторске власти, која је желела што брже успостављање свих институција како би се становништво што пре навикло на новонасталу ситуацију и било обесхрабрено да пружа отпор, при чему је посебна пажња поклањана установама културе (дневна штампа, Музеј Кнеза Павла, организовање изложби, успостављање биоскопа, јавних предавања и сл). Осим тога, окупациона политика обухватала је и врло разрађену пропагандну уметност, нарочито кроз медиј плаката, са сељаштвом као највећом циљном групом. After the collapse of Yugoslavia in April 1941, the territory of Serbia was subject to immediate German military occupation, which to a crucial extent determined the artistic creativity during the next few years. In fact, artists are classified into those that were acclaimed before the war, those who were formed as artists during or immediately after liberation and, finally, those individuals who would not be dedicated to artistic creativity had the war and occupation not occurred. Another kind of classification of artists, and even art, can be carried out according to the (non-)affiliation to a particular political party. One of the dominant art forms was the art of the occupying authorities which endeavored to establish institutions as quickly as possible so that the local population would become accustomed to the new state of affairs and be dissuaded from defiance, with special attention focused on cultural institutions (the daily press, Prince Paul‘s Museum, organizing exhibitions, establishing cinemas, public lectures, etc.). In addition, the occupation politics included well-developed propaganda art, especially by way of the poster medium, with the peasantry being the major target group.
