С правом се може казати да је значај петраркизма за целокупну европску књижевност изузетно велики. Стога овај рад покушава да установи које су имликације једног овако важног песничког феномена на српску поезију, која у доба највећег замаха петраркизма није била отворена за утицаје европске књижевности, али почев од 18. века покушава то да надомести. Одјеци петраркизма могу се посматрати кроз три модалитета: посредни и непосредни утицаји Петрарке и петраркиста на стваралаштво српских песника, реминисценције на „Каноцнијер“ и петраркистичку лирику, превођење „Канцонијера“. Сви аутори који на било који начин опонашају Петрарку или поезију петраркиста део су једног интертекстуалног дијалога са традициојм, у чијем средишту се налази „Канцонијер“... The mark that Petrarchism has left on the entire European literature is significant. Therefore, this paper attempts to establish the implications of this important poetic phenomenon in the Serbian literature, which in the greatest period of Petrarchism was not open to the influence of the European cultural scene, and tries to compensate it later. Echoes of Petrarchism can be viewed through three modalities: direct and indirect impacts of Petrarch and Petrarchan poets on our authors; the reminiscences of the "Canzoniere" and Petrarchism poetry; translations of “Canzoniere” in Serbian language. All the authors that in any way imatate Petrarch's poetry became part of an intertextual dialogue with the tradition, which has the "Canzoniere" in its center...
