‘Alā Taşköprü , Siwāsî Efendî Rhetoric, as a science, developed through exegetical, as well as linguistic and rhetorical practices. It acquired certain maturity during the thirteenth century. The distinguished author during this period was al-Qazwini with important precusors, al-Jurjani and as-Sakkaki. al-Qazwini, on his part, provided a systematic presentation of the matter which became the most influential in the time to come. Retorika se, kao naučna disciplina, razvijala kroz egzegetičku, kao i lingvističku i govorničku praksu. Tokom trinaestog veka, dostigla je izvesnu zrelost. Istaknuti autor tokom tog perioda bio je Al-Kazvini sa značajnim prethodnicima, Al-Džurdžanijem i As-Sakakijem.
