Предмет овог рада је анализа реторичких и језичких јединица у недељницима Тајм и Нин o Косову и Метохији с обзиром на важност теме и њену заступљеност у текстовима оба недељника. Да бисмо истражили реторичку и језичку структуру дискурса њузмагазина, наше истраживање конципирали смо на три нивоа: текстуалном, интертекстуалном и контекстуалном. На основу предмета, циљева и хипотеза дефинисаних у овом раду, као и мултидимензионалног нивоа анализе, поставили смо релевантан и сложен теоријски оквир који се састоји од: нове контрастивне реторике и нових реторичких жанр студија (New Rhetoric Genre Studies), критичке анализе дискурса, системске функционалне лингвистике, теорије вредновања, теорије ESP (English for Specific Purposes) и студија о улози медија у два различита друштвена контекста... This dissertation is a contrastive genre study of political discourse in newsmagazines in two different political, social, cultural and language contexts. The research object of the study is rhetorical and language analysis in the newsmagazines (Time and Nin) with a „common platform“ of subject matter on Kosovo, taking into account its importance and the number of texts devoted to Kosovo in both magazines. In order to investigate the rhetorical and language structure of newmagazinesʼ discourse, this cross-cultural study was structured on three levels: textual, intertextual and contextual. Based on subject, goals and hypotheses defined in the study, as well as on multidimensional level of analysis, we proposed relevant and complex theoretical framework the study draws on.The framework consists of: new contrastive rhetoric and new rhetoric genre studies, critical discourse analysis, systemic functional linguistics, appraisal theory, ESP theory and discussions of the role of the mass media in the two different social settings. The novelty of the study lies in the application of multidimensional approach based upon extensive and relevant theoretical framework in political discourse research. The novelty also lies in the representation and application of appraisal theory in Serbia. Contrastive genre research of the newsmagazines in two different political, social, cultural and language contexs is also new in Serbia...
