Као језгро и духовну парадигму читавог богатог, морфолошки и тематски разноликог опуса уочили смо идеју народа у прошлости и садашњости: проблем његове историје и могућности егзистенције у савременом друштву. Рад истражује Игњатовићеве погледе на ова питања, како у његовој есејистици, публицистици, књижевној критици и аутобиографско-мемоарској прози, тако и у прозном књижевном опусу... The research subject of thus constructed thesis has been the work of Jakov Ignjatovic, in relation to the principles of understanding and transposition of history in his polymorphous genre structure, his ways of forging the image of Serbs, the phenomenon and presentation of the national identity, and his perception of the national destiny. As the nucleus and the spiritual paradigm of the entire, opulent, and morphologically and thematically diversified opus, we have perceived the idea of the nation both in the past and the present: the problem of its history and the prospect of its existence in the contemporary society. The thesis explores Ignjatovic’s views on these issues, based on his essays, publicistic pieces, literary criticism, autobiographical and memoir prose...
