Pod
istim uslovima vršena su i merenja vrednosti impulsnih probojnih napona (izuzetno
sporim impulsnim naponom). Eksperimentalni postupak je vršen pod dobro
kontrolisanim laboratorijskim uslovima uz kombinovanu mernu nesigurnost manju od
<dc:description xml:lang="eng">Starting from the kinetic theory of gases, or more exactly, the Maxwell’s
distribution according to velocity on the assumption that each gas can be observed as a gas mixture consisting of gas atom (molecule), gas ion and free electrons gas with the known expressions for efficient cross-section of elastic interaction, in integral form, the first Townsend ionization coefficient was derived. In expressions derived in such way,and under assumption of the Townsend breakdown mechanism, which is typical of small pressure values and interelectrode distance, equivalent temperature (energy) of
free electrons’ gas, as well as direct variable in ionization processes. The expression for
gas breakdown was derived from dependency obtained in such a way.
With the aim of investigating the breakdown voltage dependence on breakdown
temperature (energy) of the corresponding Maxwell’s gas of free electrons, the
theoretical analysis of the mentioned dependence was performed, which includes
deriving expressions for breakdown voltage dependence on breakdown temperature
(free electrons’ energy), on the assumption of the Townsend breakdown mechanism and
homogeneous electric field. Taking into account the adopted assumptions the adequacy
check out of the obtained expressions was completed by comparing the obtained results
with the corresponding experimentally obtained results. The experimental results were
obtained by measuring the DC breakdown voltage dependence of noble gases within the Paschen’s minimum for a homogeneous electric field. A series of measurements was carried out for impulse breakdown voltage values (by exceptionally slow impulse voltage) under the same conditions. The experimental procedure was performed under well-controlled laboratory conditions combined with measurement uncertainty that was less than 5%.
The obtained results refer to: 1. The analysis of conditions under which the
Maxwell’s distribution can be applied the free electrons’ gas, observed as the gas mixture component, can be applied, or under which Druyvenstein’s distribution (which
is very similar to Maxwell’s) can be applied; 2. Deriving the ionization coefficient
expression, on the assumption of applicability of Maxwell’s that is Druyvenstein’s
distribution, depending on the product of pressure and interelectrode distance; 2.
Deriving the conditions for gas breakdown according to the Townsend mechanism, on
the basis of ionization coefficients obtained in such a way and determining the
coefficient under breakdown conditions derived in such manner; 4. The comparison of
the obtained expressions for ionization coefficients with the corresponding expressions according to Townsend and Takashi; 5. The review of parameter dependence of the Maxwell’s gas spectrum of free electrons in relation to the parameters of insulating system isolated by a noble gas at small values of the pd pressure</dc:description>
